Implantattherapie
* Implantattherapie
Living with missing teeth can be limiting, inconvenient, and embarrassing. Any missing tooth may be restored with an implant, which is inserted into the jawbone. Implants can be thought of as artificial tooth roots to replace your missing teeth. They are made of titanium, which is a totally harmless and biocompatible material. They are placed in the jaw bones according to the prosthesis to be made. Implant surgeries can easily be performed under local anesthesia for as little as half an hour, depending on the scope of labor. If your medical condition requires or upon your request the implant surgery can be performed under general anesthesia. After completing the required healing period crowns, bridges or other type of prosthesis can be fixed on the implant. Final result is very similar to the natural tooth. Implants can be used also to support removable dentures. Sometimes implants are the only choice to make prosthesis stable. Moreover, in this process patients do not need to remain toothless, the temporary healing prosthesis is used in the meantime.
